Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to Instagram on Saturday to post a new workout from his home gym at Iron Paradise. He decided to quote Randy Savage thanks to the funky shades he wore, and then admitted that his match with “Macho Man” was one of the big dreams he never had the chance. Savage was already done with WCW by the time Johnson arrived in the WWF in 1996 and Savage chose to never back down in a WWE ring even after WCW folded (instead, he opted for a few appearances in TNA). Savage died tragically in 2011 after suffering a heart attack while driving in Florida.
“I’m freaking out in shades of ‘Ohhhh Yeah,'” Johnson wrote. “(Savage has always been my dream match as it was an honor to partner him in the squared circle)”

And then during the year that it was going to happen, the opportunity just changed.”
“I know this, because I had this conversation with him. At any given time when Rock is shooting a movie in Hollywood, does he stand up, take off his elbow pads, and have goosebumps all over his body with horror at the electricity 100,000 people or whatever gives him in That moment, and he feels so passionately that no one else. There’s nothing else on this planet that gives you the rush that WWE gives you when you’re in the middle of that ring. And I know he knows that. So I know somewhere deep down that thing. But believe me, you look as good as you hit that plate, things start to fall and they’re not supposed to fall from you, like Learn? It’s hard work, and the clock is ticking. So if there was a time, it’s now. I know there was a burning desire for him to take advantage of that time. It’s just a matter of, “Can he harness all the other stuff to focus on long enough for us to get it done?” It’s up to him. The platform is definitely there. WrestleMania. L.A. Two nights, we already have over 90,000, I think, sold out… Chief of the tribe is sitting there waiting for him, or whoever else he wants, right? it’s magic. Magic, magic, magic of the highest order in the city he somehow became his own, right? And to have that experience again, I know you have to burn inside. I know that must be a wish. It’s just, what else does he need to put aside, and can he pull all this off? Because he messes around a lot. So I hope the answer is yes, I would like to see nothing more than that. But we’ll see.
